Where transplants take place in Switzerland

Six hospitals in Switzerland are licensed to transplant organs. See which centre handles which organs and how to reach it.

Centres that support you before and after your transplant.

One licence per organ

The Federal Office of Public Health grants each centre a separate licence for every organ. Transplants are highly specialised procedures that require extensive experience and the right infrastructure. Transplants in children need an additional special licence.

Getting onto the waiting list

The centre reviews your medical history to decide whether a transplant is right for you. If so, you are added to the national waiting list, which Swisstransplant manages centrally and independently.

Close support, before and after

Your centre cares for you in a way tailored to your condition. This support starts long before the procedure and continues afterwards.
