Please note: These general terms and conditions are a carefully prepared template. Before publication, the association should have the provisions reviewed legally and adapted to the applicable statutes and to the actual membership and contribution rules.
1. Scope
These general terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern the relationship between the Swiss Transplant Association (the “association”) and its members as well as people who use the association's services. The statutes of the association apply in addition; in the event of contradictions, the statutes take precedence over these Terms.
2. Membership
Any natural or legal person who supports the aims of the association may become a member. Membership is applied for using the membership form or in writing. It takes effect once the association has confirmed it and the membership fee has been paid.
The association offers in particular the following types of membership:
- Active member: annual fee of CHF 80 per year, with the right to vote and stand for election at the general meeting.
- Supporting member: annual fee from CHF 25 per year, providing moral and financial support to the association, without voting or election rights.
The board decides on the admission of members. By registering, the member accepts the statutes and these Terms.
3. Payment of fees and invoicing
The membership fee is charged annually and invoiced after joining or at the beginning of the association's financial year. Invoices are payable within the period stated on them. The fee set by the general meeting applies.
Voluntary donations beyond the membership fee are welcome at any time and are used to fulfil the purposes of the association.
4. Termination and withdrawal
Membership can be terminated in writing at the end of an association year, observing the notice period set out in the statutes. Membership fees already paid are not refunded. The board may exclude a member for good cause; details are governed by the statutes.
5. Data protection
The processing of members' personal data is governed by the association's privacy policy. By joining, the member agrees that the association processes the data required for membership administration.
6. Liability
The association endeavours to provide its services and the information on this website with due care. Liability for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the content provided, and for damage arising from use of the website or participation in events, is excluded as far as legally permissible. In particular, information provided by the association does not replace medical or legal advice.
7. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
The relationship between the association and its members is governed exclusively by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is, as far as legally permissible, the registered seat of the association in Switzerland.
